Holy crap did we get a ton of snow! We were struggling to get a place booked and finally Wildlife Refuge Cabins in South Range called us back with a cancellation and we got in for Thursday through Sunday. Man did we make the right decision!
Throwback to December of 2019 when we made a last minute decision on a Wednesday night to head up to Toivola on Friday with a few possible lake effect storms rolling in. The bet paid off big time!
What a day! Hit some power lines coming out of Toivola in the Keweenaw (Upper Peninsula of Michigan) and man did we run into some challenges. I lost my phone for an hour and a half toward the end of the day under 8" of snow.
Sometimes you have to make the best of what you've been given. Yes the snow sucked through mid January this year in the Upper Peninsula for Backcountry Riding and Trail Riding.
Getting used to some sea level turbo setups on our mountain sleds in the Western UP of Michigan and watching your buddy fly over the bars is always priceless (happened twice in the same day).
